GENERAL INFORMATION – LIFTS AND PARKING
Arena on all days is Arena Ostliften at Idre Fjäll. This applies to all World Cup competitions and to the Spectator competitions. To get to the arena, we refer to the following options, see below. (See also the separate overview map on Eventor, the overview map is also available at the Event Centre ‘Vistet’ in paper form).
TRANSPORT TO/FROM THE COMPETITION VENUE
LIFTS
The lifts will take you from Idre Fjäll to Arena Ostliften via Gondolen and then down to the arena via Ostliften.
There is parking at the Gondola which is marked on the overview map. There are also plenty of car parks at the Ski Stadium, where you can get on at the West 6 intermediate station.
Parking at your own accommodation at Idre Fjäll is of course the most convenient, then you can take a walk or bike to the lift station or to Arena Ostliften via the pedestrian / cycle path marked on the overview map.
LIFT PASS – STRAPS FOR THE LIFT
Everyone needs a lift pass (straps) to ride the lifts and this pass can be picked up at the Event Centre, which you will find in the ‘Vistet’ room at Idre Fjäll. The lift pass is included in the registration fee.
WALK/CYCLE TO THE ARENA OSTLIFTEN
The second and perhaps most convenient option is to walk or cycle to Arena Ostliften. The distance is about 1500-2500 metres depending on where you live in the cabin village. It is signposted from the south-eastern part of Idre Fjäll (see separate overview map on Eventor, also available at the Event Centre).
For those with special needs, there is a limited possibility to park at the arena by purchasing a special parking permit. The cost is 50 SEK/day. The parking permits are purchased at the Event Centre before the competitions. Note, the number of spaces is very limited.
The overview map will give you a good idea of the different options, where the car parks are located at the lift stations and the walking and cycling route to Arena Ostliften. The starting points are also marked on this map to make it easier for you to plan a pleasant stay and exciting days together with the world’s best orienteers.

RIVER BRUNNAN – FORBIDDEN TO CROSS THE RIVER EXCEPT AT THE FOOTBRIDGE
On day 1 and day 3, the Brunnan river crosses the competition area. This river is only allowed to pass via the bridges that exist and are marked on the map. There is no signalling that the river is a prohibited area, but officials are in the area to ensure that this is respected.
ROAD PASSAGE
On both day 1 (Friday 20 June) and day 3 (Sunday 22 June) there will be a road crossing as shown below. Signage along the road will advise drivers to drive carefully.
Friday 20 June – only a few classes will cross the road, the longer courses.
Sunday 22 June – road crossings for all on Sunday. Both on the way to the start and along the course. We urge runners to be careful and to run along the roadside.
TERRAIN DESCRIPTION
DAY 1 – We start with a middle distance in an exciting area that offers slope orienteering with ‘fine orienteering’.
For the shorter and easier courses there is a large system of paths. The accessibility is good to very good. The gradient is moderate.
DAY 2 – The second day offers a shortened long distance in perhaps the nicest area of Idre Fjäll.
The visibility and runnability is very good but there are still challenges in terms of orienteering. The gradient is moderate.
DAY 3 – The third and last day is the middle distance on the programme, which offers a lot of challenges, especially for the longer courses. They are faced with a very detailed slope with relatively difficult orientation.
For the shorter courses there is a system of paths and streams. Access is generally good, and the gradient is moderate to steep (longer courses).
UNCLEAR PATHS
On both day 1 (Friday 20 June) and day 3 (Sunday 22 June) there are a few marked trails, mainly affecting the shorter youth courses.
Friday 20 June – An unclear path (ski track in winter) is used as a handrail for some youth courses (mainly HD10 and White 2,0). Where it is most unclear, it has been marked as a purple path on the maps and with white ribbons in the terrain.
Sunday 22 June – Two short artificial paths have been created and these concern HD10, HD12, Inskolning, White 2.0, Yellow 2.5 and Yellow 5.0. These are marked as purple paths on the map and with white ribbons in the terrain.

Runners who do not complete the race must go to the Competition Info tent at the arena as soon as possible and download their SI-card.
