Speakers Corner #10 Ralph Street

He’s from London but he´s living in Oslo, Norway for quite many years now and has to deal with snowy and cold winters. Ralph Street has a very relaxed approach to his orienteering career but nevertheless he has ambitions. No doubts, he has ambitions in both forest and sprint events.

Postponed WOC in Denmark is her main focus

In Speakers Corner #9 you meet Cecilie Friberg-Klysner from Denmark and she´s talking about her ambition to perform on top when WOC 2022 will be held in Denmark. She’s also very thankful she got selected to travel abroad when she was young.

World Cup Idre Fjäll 2021 will be broadcasted in SVT

The organizers of Orienteering World Cup Idre Fjäll 2021 can proudly announce that Swedish Television (SVT) will broadcast ”live” from all three competitions days, 12-15 August 2021.

– I´m both very glad and satisfied that SVT will broadcast from our World Cup races, the Event Director Per Forsberg says. It´s not only important for us but also for our sport to be shown on Swedish Television. It will be fanstastic to offer exciting competitions in a very spectacular natur to the Swedish viewers.

Swedish Television will also show the European Championships from Switzerland in May and WOC 2021 in Czech Republic. All this will be shown live.

 

Speakers Corner #8 Tim Robertson

He made is WOC-debut only 16 years old

He has moved to Stockholm, Sweden and has an ambition to learn the Swedish language. That’s a big task but he is used to handling big tasks. He managed to defend the JWOC-gold in Sprint despite a very big pressure.
– I´m very proud of that performance in Rauland, Norway 2015 when I won that gold medal. Also happy to do it with my family onsite, Tim says. He was also the first ”Kiwi” to win a medal at WOC when he finished in Silver medal position in Riga 2018, only one second behind Daniel Hubmann, Switzerland.

Speakers Corner #7 – Andrine Benjaminsen

Andrine is a part of the Danish Elite Centre

In Speakers Corner you meet Andrine Benjaminsen from Lillomarka OL in Oslo, Norway. She’s been living and studying in Aarhus, Denmark for some years now and she is enjoying it.

– I think it’s a perfect fit for me to be here in Aarhus, Denmark with great facilities and opportunities to improve my skills, she says.
WOC 2019 on home soil in Norway was a disappointment but now she’s looking into the future with big hopes and dreams.
