Bulletin 3 – released and published

With only two months left until Orienteering World Cup Idre Fjäll will take place we now has released Bulletin 3.

In this Bulletin you will find out where we will stage the arenas for our three events, long distance, middle distance and relays. All within only four days at Idre Fjäll.

In a couple of weeks we will aso publish a Covid-19 Bulletin World Cup Idre Fjäll. We are working hard to find a solution where we can secure all partcipants in a good way because of the Corona pandemic.

World Cup test races 27 June and 30 June

On Sunday 27 June and Wednesday 30 June, Idrefjällens OK will organise two test races for Swedish runners ahead of the Orienteering World Cup Idre Fjäll 12-15 August 2021.
All runners are welcome, not only Swedish runners.
These two races, the middle distance on Sunday 27 June and the long distance on Wednesday 30 June are relevant for the World Cup.

Speakers Corner #12 Gustav Bergman

Gustav Bergman is the reigning overall World Cup winner since the season 2019. He has been one of the best orienteers in the world the last decade.
He is driven by his love to the sport he says;
– I´m not driven by results but more by finding the feeling and flow in the woods, Gustav says.
Gustav Bergman is a World Champion twice, both in realy (2014 and 2019) and at both occasions he was running the anchor leg.
– It is something special to run the last leg, I really like it, Gustav Bergman tells Per Forsberg.

Speakers Corner #11 Sabine Hauswirth

In Speakers Corner #11 you meet Sabine Hauswirth from Switzerland and she speaks about the very special year of 2020.
– Yes, it was very special, particularly when you don’t know what will happen in the near future, she says.

Sabine has been a part of the Swiss team for some years now and remembers both ups and downs in this meeting with Per Forsberg. Now she’s working at the same time as she´s trying to focus on orienteering. Not an easy task every day.

First entries to World Cup Idre Fjäll 2021 are made

With four months to go we have now registered the two first nations. It was France and Germany who have register their runners and coaches.

– We are very pleased and satisfied to welcome orienteers to World Cup Idre Fjäll 2021, Per Forsberg say. We are on our way to offer a fantastic event but at the same time we are following the current situation with the pandemic very close. 

The deadline for entries is June 12 2021 for all participating nations. The organisers has a goal to welcome runners from more than 30 different countries.

Speakers Corner #10 Ralph Street

He’s from London but he´s living in Oslo, Norway for quite many years now and has to deal with snowy and cold winters. Ralph Street has a very relaxed approach to his orienteering career but nevertheless he has ambitions. No doubts, he has ambitions in both forest and sprint events.

Postponed WOC in Denmark is her main focus

In Speakers Corner #9 you meet Cecilie Friberg-Klysner from Denmark and she´s talking about her ambition to perform on top when WOC 2022 will be held in Denmark. She’s also very thankful she got selected to travel abroad when she was young.

World Cup Idre Fjäll 2021 will be broadcasted in SVT

The organizers of Orienteering World Cup Idre Fjäll 2021 can proudly announce that Swedish Television (SVT) will broadcast ”live” from all three competitions days, 12-15 August 2021.

– I´m both very glad and satisfied that SVT will broadcast from our World Cup races, the Event Director Per Forsberg says. It´s not only important for us but also for our sport to be shown on Swedish Television. It will be fanstastic to offer exciting competitions in a very spectacular natur to the Swedish viewers.

Swedish Television will also show the European Championships from Switzerland in May and WOC 2021 in Czech Republic. All this will be shown live.
